Jay D. Burchfield, Senior Principal and Co-founder of Greystone.
Mr. Burchfield served as the Lead Independent Director of O'Reilly Automotive, Inc., a publicly held company with over 5,900 stores and more than 84,000 team members throughout the United States & Mexico. In this role, serving as Lead Director and Member of the Audit and Compensation Committees.
Additionally, Mr. Burchfield served as a Director of Simmons First National Corporation, a publicly held company that is ranked within the Top 1000 World Banks with over 200 locations & 2,800 associates throughout the United States. In this role, serving as Chairman & Member of the Compensation, Audit, Risk, Wealth, and Executive Committees.
Mr. Burchfield is also the Senior Principal of SilverTree Companies-Realty, a Mid-West Real Estate Company.
As a U.S. Army Veteran with a career spanning over 50-years in the banking, finance, and real estate industries - his unmatched expertise provides Greystone with the benefits of strategic business development, fiscal management, and leadership development.

Wilson Burchfield is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Greystone, where he leads investment strategy, capital allocation, and risk management across the firm’s private equity fund portfolios. With more than 15 years of experience in capital markets, commercial development, partnership administration, and portfolio engineering, Wilson aligns disciplined financial analysis with real-world execution to deliver resilient, risk-adjusted returns.
Prior to establishing Greystone, Wilson held roles at PNC Investment Bank, Central Bank of Boone County, and SilverTree Companies, gaining expertise in underwriting, operational strategy, and capital structure optimization. These experiences form the foundation of Greystone’s investment philosophy: rigorous underwriting, asymmetric return potential, and strong alignment between project economics and investor objectives.
Wilson has led the capitalization and development of commercial assets across the United States, including pad-site retail, quick-service restaurant projects, industrial flex properties, and multi-tenant income-producing assets. His approach integrates quantitative modeling, portfolio risk analytics, and active asset oversight to protect and grow investor capital through market cycles.
Driven by deep fiduciary discipline, Wilson maintains institutional governance practices and transparent communication with Co-Investment Partners. He continues to advance Greystone’s platform by leveraging emerging technologies, macroeconomic insight, and development partnerships to scale fund portfolios built on durability, performance, and strategic market positioning.

Mr. Burchfield began his career at Commerce Bancshares and later served as Vice President of JES Holdings for nine years. In 2002, he founded the SilverTree Family of Companies.
Throughout his career, Jay has managed all aspects of finance, real estate, and tax credit syndication, including negotiations, development, acquisitions, asset management, leasing, partnership administration, broker-lender relations, compliance, and more.
Mr. Burchfield is actively involved in the communities he serves, holding board positions with Central Bank of Boone County, Fr. Tolton Catholic High School, and the Lee's Summit Economic Development Council.
As a former member of the REDI Board, City of Columbia TIF Commission, and the Missouri Governor's Incentive Review Committee, Jay brings a broad range of earned expertise to Greystone, crucial for achieving the generational wealth goals of Greystone's Investment Partners.
